Pitt Lake is the largest tidal lake in the whole world, meaning your canoe trip to Widgeon will be affected by the tides. These tides can be unpredictable, so be cautious out on the water and note that canoes are restricted to Widgeon Creek. No canoes are permitted to go downriver or into Pitt Lake.

STAFF DO NOT PERFORM RESCUES. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. ALWAYS WEAR YOUR PFD (PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICES).

Please do your part and be respectful to the many animal species we share this space with at Xwum [Kwahm]. Pack out what you pack in, make use of the proper garbage disposal stations and use the restroom facilities.

  • The main entrance to Xwum is on Rannie Road. From Pitt Meadows travel north on Harris Road. Travel about 4 kilometres and then take a right on McNeil Road. Continue east to Rannie Road all the way to the end of the road until you see the gate.

  • Please bring shoes that you’re comfortable getting wet, as you may have to pull your canoe onto shore if the tide is low. You won’t need to bring a lifejacket as we will happily supply you with one. We recommend bringing comfortable walking shoes for when you reach the Falls.
